Ingredients:

  • 8 slices (200g) white bread, crusts removed
  • 8 slices (160g) Cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp (57g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Remove the crusts from all 8 slices of bread.
  2. Place a slice of bread on a clean surface and use a rolling pin to flatten it firmly until it is approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on the flattened bread, leaving a small 1/4-inch border around the edges.
  4. Carefully roll the bread into a tight cylinder and gently pinch the seam to lock the cheese inside.
  5. Brush the exterior of each roll liberally with melted butter.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place rolls seam-side down first to lock them, then fry for 1-2 minutes per side until mahogany-colored and the cheese is molten.
