Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (150g) light brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups (300g) fresh peaches, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp (5ml) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Pour the melted butter directly into a 9-inch round cake pan, swirling to coat the bottom completely.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the butter, pressing it down slightly into a flat layer.
- Arrange peach slices in a concentric circle on top of the sugar and stir vanilla extract around the edges of the peaches.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yellow cake mix, eggs, milk, softened butter, and cinnamon.
- Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peach layer and smooth the top with a rubber spatula.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly in the pan before flipping it onto a wire cooling rack.
