Ingredients:
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (90/10 recommended)
- 0.5 unit Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 0.5 unit Green Bell Pepper, finely diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 0.75 cup Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 box (8 count) Frozen Garlic Texas Toast
- 1.5 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or according to Texas toast package instructions. Place frozen bread slices on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until partially toasted.
- While bread bakes, brown the ground beef and diced onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until meat is fully cooked. Drain excess fat thoroughly.
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the green bell pepper, garlic, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. Simmer for 5-8 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes the meat.
- Remove toast from oven. Evenly distribute the meat mixture onto each slice of toast. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Return to the oven or broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and slightly golden.
