Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 ripe avocados, pitted and peeled
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced Roma tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 2 tbsp sliced green onions
Instructions:
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water, simmering for 3-5 minutes until the liquid reduces into a thick glaze. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mash the avocados with lime juice, salt, and cilantro until it reaches a chunky-smooth consistency.
- In a second mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder together until velvety and unified.
- Spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom of a 9x9 inch glass baking dish to create the anchor layer.
- Layer the seasoned ground beef evenly over the refried beans.
- Spread the cream cheese and sour cream mixture over the beef layer.
- Carefully spread the mashed avocado mixture over the cream layer.
- Top the dip with shredded cheddar cheese, diced Roma tomatoes, sliced black olives, and sliced green onions.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and the structure to stabilize.
