Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Reposado Tequila
  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
  • 0.75 oz Spiced Winter Syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 star anise, 4 cloves, 1 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 1 oz 100% Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar (for rim)
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon (for rim)
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked sea salt (for rim)

Instructions:

  1. To make the Spiced Winter Syrup: Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, broken cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and steep for 20 minutes before straining.
  2. Prepare the rim by mixing 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and 0.5 tsp smoked sea salt on a small plate. Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge and dip into the mixture.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz Reposado Tequila, 1 oz lime juice, 0.5 oz Cointreau, 0.75 oz of the prepared Spiced Winter Syrup, and 1 oz unsweetened cranberry juice.
  4. Add large ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for 12 seconds to aerate and chill the mixture.
  5. Double strain the cocktail into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice.
