Ingredients:
- 2 oz Reposado Tequila
- 1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
- 0.5 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
- 0.75 oz Spiced Winter Syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 star anise, 4 cloves, 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 1 oz 100% Unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1 tbsp Granulated sugar (for rim)
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon (for rim)
- 0.5 tsp Smoked sea salt (for rim)
Instructions:
- To make the Spiced Winter Syrup: Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, broken cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and steep for 20 minutes before straining.
- Prepare the rim by mixing 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and 0.5 tsp smoked sea salt on a small plate. Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge and dip into the mixture.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz Reposado Tequila, 1 oz lime juice, 0.5 oz Cointreau, 0.75 oz of the prepared Spiced Winter Syrup, and 1 oz unsweetened cranberry juice.
- Add large ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for 12 seconds to aerate and chill the mixture.
- Double strain the cocktail into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice.
