Ingredients:

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the cornstarch to hydrate.
  3. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, tilting to coat the base completely.
  4. Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk in a bowl until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter directly over the melted butter without stirring.
  6. Spoon the prepared peach mixture evenly over the top of the batter without stirring.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown and the fruit juices are bubbling.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes to let the filling set before serving.
