Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 0.5 cup Panko bread crumbs
- 0.25 cup whole milk
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk 1 large egg, 0.25 cup whole milk, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, and 0.5 cup Panko bread crumbs. Note: This allows the breadcrumbs to hydrate before hitting the meat.
- Stir in 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp Kosher salt, 0.5 tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning to the milk mixture.
- Place 1 lb ground beef in a large bowl and pour the liquid mixture over it.
- Using a fork or very light fingers, toss the ingredients together until just combined. Note: Over mixing makes the meat tough.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of meat and roll gently between your palms into a 1.5 inch ball.
- Place meatballs on a parchment lined tray, leaving at least 1 inch of space between each.
- Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes until the tops are sizzling and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let them sit on the tray for 5 minutes. Note: This allows the juices to redistribute inside the meat.
