Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 oz red wine
  • 2 maraschino cherries
  • 1 orange twist

Instructions:

  1. Combine the 2 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes of bitters into a mixing glass.
  2. Add ice to the mixer. Fill the mixing glass 3/4 full with large, solid ice cubes.
  3. Stir with intention for 30 seconds until the outside of the glass feels frosty and cold.
  4. Empty the chilling water from your rocks glass and add one large, fresh ice cube.
  5. Strain the bourbon mixture into the rocks glass until it settles around the ice.
  6. Hold a bar spoon upside down just above the surface of the bourbon.
  7. Slowly pour 1 oz of red wine over the back of the spoon until a distinct red layer forms at the top.
  8. Squeeze the orange twist over the glass to release oils, then drop it in along with 2 maraschino cherries.
