Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 oz red wine
- 2 maraschino cherries
- 1 orange twist
Instructions:
- Combine the 2 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes of bitters into a mixing glass.
- Add ice to the mixer. Fill the mixing glass 3/4 full with large, solid ice cubes.
- Stir with intention for 30 seconds until the outside of the glass feels frosty and cold.
- Empty the chilling water from your rocks glass and add one large, fresh ice cube.
- Strain the bourbon mixture into the rocks glass until it settles around the ice.
- Hold a bar spoon upside down just above the surface of the bourbon.
- Slowly pour 1 oz of red wine over the back of the spoon until a distinct red layer forms at the top.
- Squeeze the orange twist over the glass to release oils, then drop it in along with 2 maraschino cherries.
