Ingredients:

  • 750 ml Tequila Blanco or Reposado
  • 375 ml Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice (from approximately 10-12 limes)
  • 180 ml Premium Orange Liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 120 ml Agave Nectar
  • 60 ml Filtered Water (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse Sea Salt or Margarita Salt (for rimming)
  • 2-3 Limes, cut into wedges or wheels (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Juice your fresh limes until you have 375 ml. For the rim, pour coarse salt onto a small, shallow plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each serving glass, then invert the glass onto the salt, twisting gently to create an even coating. Set aside the glasses.
  2. In a large pitcher (at least 2.5 Liters capacity), combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and filtered water (if using). Stir well with a long spoon until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the agave nectar is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired, adding a little more agave nectar for a sweeter drink or a splash more lime juice for extra tartness.
  3. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2-3 hours, to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to chill thoroughly without dilution. When ready to serve, fill your prepared, salt-rimmed glasses with fresh ice. Pour the chilled margarita mixture over the ice. Garnish each glass with a fresh lime wedge or wheel.
