Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (115g)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed (65g)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (25g)
- 1 large egg yolk (18g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (155g)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda (3g)
- 1/4 tsp sea salt (1.5g)
- 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (85g)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until fully emulsified and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring with a spatula until just combined.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed, taking care not to overmix.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a 1 tsp measuring spoon, scoop the dough and roll into small, tight spheres.
- Place the dough spheres on the sheet about 1/2 inch (1.2cm) apart.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the edges turn a light golden brown while the centers remain soft.
