Instructions:

  1. Line the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan with a single layer of 12 ice cream sandwiches. Trim edges with a sharp knife if necessary to ensure a snug, wall-to-wall fit to prevent leakage.
  2. Spread half of the warmed hot fudge topping over the first layer of sandwiches using an offset spatula.
  3. Immediately sprinkle half of the crushed Oreo cookies over the fudge to create a signature crunch layer.
  4. Repeat the process by adding a second layer of 12 ice cream sandwiches, followed by the remaining hot fudge and another portion of crushed cookies.
  5. Fold the vanilla extract into the whipped topping. Spread the mixture evenly over the top layer using an offset spatula to seal the edges.
