Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1.5 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp dried rubbed sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp vegetable oil for cooking
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, olive oil, maple syrup, and all spices. Mix gently with your hands or a fork until just incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions. Roll into balls and flatten into patties approximately 1/2 inch thick. Press a small indentation into the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
- Choose a cooking method: 1. Stovetop: Cook in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side. 2. Oven: Bake at 400°F (200°C) on a parchment-lined sheet for 15-18 minutes. 3. Air Fryer: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Verify the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C) using an instant-read thermometer. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
