- 2 fl oz Light/White Rum (Standard proof)
- 1 fl oz Passion Fruit Puree (or high-quality juice)
- 1 fl oz Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
- 75 fl oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 5 fl oz Simple Syrup (1:1 sugar/water ratio)
- 5 fl oz Quality Grenadine
- Crushed Ice or Pebble Ice (for serving)
- 1 Orange Slice or Wheel (for garnish)
- 1 Maraschino Cherry (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prep the Glass and Ingredients: Chill your Hurricane glass thoroughly. Prepare all garnishes, and ensure all juice ingredients are freshly squeezed and measured precisely.
- Combine and Chill: Pour the Aged Rum, Light Rum, Passion Fruit Puree, Orange Juice, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, and Grenadine into the cocktail shaker.
- The Hurricane Shake: Fill the shaker completely with solid, fresh ice cubes. Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. This step is essential for chilling and achieving proper dilution.
- Strain and Serve: Empty the chilling water from the Hurricane glass. Fill the prepared glass entirely with crushed or pebble ice. Double strain the contents of the shaker into the ice-filled glass. Garnish dramatically with the orange slice and cherry. Serve immediately.
