Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef (85/15 lean-to-fat ratio)
- 1.5 cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 0.75 cup low-sugar steak sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy. Stir in the seasoned stuffing crumbs and half of the savory sauce (approx. 6 tablespoons) to hydrate the crumbs.
- Add the ground beef to the bowl. Using clean hands, gently fold the meat into the mixture until just combined, being careful not to overwork or squeeze the meat.
- Press the mixture into a 9x5 inch loaf pan or shape into a 5x9 inch rectangle on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and spread the remaining savory sauce over the top of the loaf.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the glaze is set.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure the juices redistribute.
